Today, we're excited to share that Aneil Singh is joining the team.
Aneil is based in Toronto and has been a 3x Founding AE most notably at Shopify, Deel (Enterprise), and Magic Labs. We're beyond excited about the future of this new sales motion!

How did you get into software?
While studying finance in university, I was pretty convinced I'd end up going down the corporate banking path after graduation. Then in my final year, I took a Sales Management course that completely changed how I thought about sales and what it actually meant to build a career in it.
From that point on, I put my finance plans on hold (spoiler alert, I never went back) and started looking for an entry-level sales role after graduating
That decision led me to a Founding AE role (originally called Sales Hacker) at a small Canadian tech startup. That startup turned out to be Shopify.
I spent some of my most formative years there, learning the ins and outs of software sales and getting a front-row seat to what it looks like to scale from a small startup into a publicly traded company. It’s now been 10 years since I first got into software and it's easily been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Why are you at Resend?
When you combine an incredible product with exceptional people, it's very hard to say no. Resend has all the ingredients of a once in a generation company. The chance to join this rocketship as a Founding Account Executive feels like a rare career-defining opportunity.
Nearly every company in the world relies on email. I'm genuinely excited to be at the forefront of making that experience as seamless as possible.
Favourite place to visit?
Toronto has been home for almost my entire life and I can’t get enough of it. There are so many neighborhoods, events and things to do. I always feel like I’m exploring some new area, trying a new restaurant, meeting new people, and I hope I get to experience that forever.

Whether it’s HubSpot, Salesforce, or Attio, I really appreciate a clean, well-run CRM. It’s usually the platform I spend the most time with, so I want to make sure it works smoothly and is easy to use.

Where do you find #inspiration?
All over! Anything that anyone does that is truly exceptional can provide a huge boost of inspiration in my life.
Whether it's an amazing meal at a restaurant, or seeing a developer ship a huge product update, anything done well inspires me. I once saw a truck driver parallel park an 18-wheeler and I still think about that for motivation.
